This last weekend the city of Coral Gables opened their usual Friday Gallery Night full of festivities. Besides the gallery opening that occurs every first Friday of the month, the Carnaval on the Mile art festival took place at the Miracle Mile St. Thousands of people gathered to participate in this pictoric annual art festival.

This painting made exclusively with palette knives, freed the artist Mai Yap to reconnect with that place long forgotten. In her latest collection everything is new and exciting, her canvas becomes a place where texture, movement and color emerge in perfect harmony.
One of our most recommended exhibits in the area will be at ArtSight Gallery, 1524 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Coral Gables. At this gallery space, the artist Mai Yap has an incredible exhibition of her latest work, done entirely with palette knives. This unique exhibition opened last Friday March 1st and will be open for the entire month of March.
Mai’s is a Panamanian artist, whose most recognizable work has been her “extreme close-up” images of flowers. Mai was searching for something more intense for her artworks and came out with this amazing new collection. This pursuit led her to the focus of her current series: the Everglades, Painted Tapestries.
