Artist Tony Lopez's sculpture officially revealed

The city of Sweet water was honored today with an event in dedication to the artist sculptor Tony Lopez
 
In this picture in front of the sculpture, Ms Carol Damian, Director & Chief curator for the Frost Art Museum- FIU, along with one of the promoters of this memorial the artist Leonor Anthony. With them the artist Mary Sanchez, cultural coordinator & curator Ms. Elisa Todd from NPTI, and at the left the artist Ana Carolina Moreno from Art Center Miami
 
 
Lesley A. Northup, Dean of the Honors College from Florida International University and Manny Marono, the Mayor of the City of Sweet Water formally invited to this unique community event.  A white impressive sculpture of José  Martí ,  the Cuban national hero and an important figure in Latin American literature, was revealed in the city of Sweetwater.
 
A Sculpture of “Jose Marti” by the Cuban artist Tony Lopez was revealed at the Jorge Mas Canosa Youth Center. A group of invited guests gathered to be part of this event on May 20st 2013 to revealed the permanent placement of the sculpture at this well known Youth Center. This event represents an immense effort to keep the memory of two important Cuban Artists in our community.
