Mayor Tomas Regalado Appreciation Gala at Nina Torres Fine Arts Gallery
Last Wednesday Sept 18th a unique gala appreciation event took place at the Nina Torres Fine Art gallery. The gala event was attended by hundreds of art enthusiasts, multiple media outlets, and friends of Mayor Regalado.
The purpose of the event was to express appreciation to the Mayor for his long-time stance as a strong supporter of the Arts in the City of Miami. Mayor Regalado’s successful efforts to help Miami become a thriving, well-respected, and internationally recognized leader in the Arts is well documented, and this evening was a gathering of the Miami art community to express gratitude to Mayor Regalado for all of his efforts.

A very interesting and unique mix of people gathered at the Gala to show their appreciation to the Mayor. Guests included local and international artists, art dealers and collectors, gallerydirectors, museum representatives, theater directors, designers, recording artists and musicians, City, Congress and Consulate representatives, doctors, judges, attorneys, local celebrities and models. The eclectic mix of guests made this agreat evening, and everyone was delighted by the special performance of award-winningFlorida Grand Opera tenor Rolando Polo.
The centerpiece of the evening was a dedication presented by master of ceremonies David S. Kessler, publicly thanking Mayor Regalado, on behalf of Nina Torres and the entire art community of Miami, for being such a strong supporter of the arts. The ceremony featured the unveiling of a beautiful commissioned portraitof the Mayor painted by artist Marcelo Holzinger. The Mayor looked touched and moved as he was personally presented with his portrait by Holzinger. He voiced his gratitude and appreciation for his new portrait, and also for the wonderful acknowledgement that he was receiving from the community. In addition, Mayor Regalado vowed to continue his strong support of the Miami art community throughout his next term.
