PIAG MUSEUM Earth Day Public Exhibition
“Earth and Water: Our Planet, Our Life”
PIAG Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to plan, organize, promote and disseminate the visual arts in all its forms and manifestations throughout our community, South Florida, Nationwide and Worldwide.
This year the PIAG Museum’s President Ms Mireya Power joined forces with The Honors College at Florida International University to bring their annual artistic event in recognition of International Earth Day.
The art project belongs to PIAG Museum who in order call attention to conservation of the planet has been exhibiting the project for eight years in a row. The project consist in floating wooden cubes intervened by artists through paint and photography. The floating artworks had been displayed in lakes at the Botanical Garden, FIU and Epcot Center among other beautiful venues in Florida.
Local artists, photographers, and writers were invited to use their creative talents to transform square, foam cubes into artistic representations of how they feel our planet is suffering and what its future holds. For more information about the PIAG Museum, visithttp://www.piagmuseum.org/.
The cubes will be showcased on Tuesday, April 22, as they are released into the Green Lake at FIU’s main campus. The project is part of the PIAG Museum’s “Earth and Water: Our Planet, Our Life” exhibit, which aims to bring awareness of global climate change through forms of art.
