Gonzalo Sanchez is a Mexican-American contemporary artist who lives in Miami. His work had been exhibited all over the world.
His artwork is categorized as Modern Geometric Abstract. His style is clearly influenced by the geometric abstract forefathers Kandinsky. Gonzalo Sanchez started this year 2015 with an amazing showcase in Shanghai - People Republic of China organized by Art Center Miami
His paintings will be exhibited all over China in an art tour that ends November 2015 with MANABE Corporation. His contemporary art energizes the Asian observers and brings the Latin colors to the world. The art tour in China complies a collection of modern prints and originals from a few Latin Artists bringing Western modern style into the ancient East.
Gonzalo paints in acrylic with palette knife. All his paintings have warm colors and textures and are always aimed to explore the intricacies and depth of the geometric universe. He loves this vibrant city that inspires him through the Latino energy, vivid colors and warm atmosphere that impregnates the city.
We had the unique opportunity to have a brief interview with the artist in Wynwood, the main art district in Miami. In our meeting he shared with us interesting details that we would love to share with you:
Gonzalo What is you main inspiration when creating art? Inspiration comes mainly from daily activities and mostly when i ride my bike listening music
How do you connect your art to your soul? its always has to do with sensibility and past/recent experiences and some sort of a obsession with drawing lines
Gonzalo is there a favorite medium for your creations? I always paint in acrylic and with palette knife.
What are your exhibition plans for this year 2015 ? For now so far I have one exhibition in Firenze in spring (Galeria Mentana) and one other in Shanghai (Manabe group)
Is there any specific goal for you this year Lately i am experimenting with large formats and would like to move into murals
What do you think about the art in Miami?Art in Miami - Wynwood is exploding; there are new galleries and fairs all over the place; i think the future for the art world is great
Are you planning on staying in Miami for many years? Certainly; though i would love to move further south to the keys; love Miami and the community
