DOUGLAS, a contemporary talented artist from Miami

During the beginning of Miami Art week in Miami we had the pleasure of interviewing the talented American - Colombian artist Douglas Garcia. Douglas Garcia is and Abstract and Contemporary Latin American Artist, born in 1982 in Miami Florida 

Douglas studied Fine Art and Sculpting in the United States. He creates unique art pieces that bring happiness and well-being to others.

All his works include 777 a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. He has successfully exhibited in many galleries in the US.

Our questions to the artists where as it follows:

What is your inspiration to create your work?

My work is inspired in God's creation: Nature and all its array of colors, old and modern architecture with its planes and perfect details, and older music with its magical rhythms that inspire, happiness, honor and tranquility.

What have you prepared for next year 2015 in matters of your exhibitions?

Next year will be full of new projects, I will be working on a new series called JESUS, which I plan to exhibit during the middle of the year.

Do you admire any specific master who inspire you to create?

Yes, Van Gogh, Picasso, Rothko, Calder and Britto, they all have something unique and their use of space and color is admirable.

Would you be showing in December your artworks?

Yes. I will be showing some paintings during Art Basel season 2014 at Wynwwod, Florida.

What can you say about Miami art world?

Miami is a great city full of people of different cultures and amazing talents, it's one of the most transited tourist destinations in America and the art culture is just beginning with the constructions of new museums, galleries and even neighborhood specifically focused in art such as Wynwood Walls.
